A midwestern girl, originally from Nebraska, Melissa holds an MFA in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School, NY. Melissa’s career began in Dance and has continued in Theatre, Musical Theatre and Film as an actress, dancer, singer, choreographer, director, producer and writer. She has trained and worked professionally in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Austin, Minneapolis and New York with Edge Performing Arts, Mia Michaels, Desmond Richards, Labyrinth Theatre Company and more.
As a founding member of the LabRats Theater Company in NY, she was awarded Best Female Performance in the 2013 NY Int’l Fringe for originating the lead role of Angelica in Carroll Gardens. Melissa was also awarded Best Director for The Councilwoman which premiered in the West Village Music Theater Festival.
Melissa's extra time is filled with teaching, family, travel and writing. Her best role will always be mother to Samuel and partner with Ruben. Each of us a performer, we make for quite an entertaining family!
